Home Inspection Basics ...

Why You Need A Home Inspection

The home buying process can be a stressful and emotional time.  A home inspector’s main purpose is to provide an objective assessment and reduce the amount of risk involved with a real estate transaction.  An inspection does not eliminate all of the dangers, but a NAHIPA Member can identify problems that the consumer would not.  Even if you work in the home construction industry, you probably don’t have the breadth of knowledge to cover in the same detail the wide range of items examined by your NAHIPA Member Home Inspector.

NAHIPA Members have inspected thousands of homes.  We’re familiar with all the systems of a home, how they work and need to be maintained, and the signs to look for that may indicate something is getting ready to fail.

But beyond the technical expertise and experience a professional inspector brings, it is important to remember that the inspector remains an impartial third party.  If you are involved in buying or selling a house, its impossible for you to remain completely unemotional about the house, and this may cloud your judgment.  Your NAHIPA Member Home Inspector will provide an objective, unbiased reporting of the facts that can help you be confident in any decisions you make about the home.
