About NAHIPAHistory and Mission The National Association of Home Inspectors (NAHI) was established in 1987 as
a nonprofit association to promote and develop the home inspection
industry. Since that time, NAHI has firmly established itself
as the premier association of the home inspection industry.
Our mission is simple . . .
To promote excellence and professionalism
in the Home Inspection industry. We believe in the importance of educating both our inspectors and
the general public. Like our national organization, local NAHIPA chapters
have been established to foster professional ethics and promote a consistent
level of standards within the Home Inspection profession through examination,
continuing education and periodic review. Because there are no federal laws regulating home inspections and regulations
vary from state to state, NAHIPA also offers a mentoring program that
helps inspectors understand the requirements for complying with the laws
and regulations particular to Pennsylvania. NAHIPA Members
A NAHIPA inspector is well qualified, with experience in all phases of home
inspection.
As a member of NAHI, our national organization, they must meet our standard
of excellence and follow comprehensive inspection guidelines as specified in the
NAHI Standards of Practice
and the
NAHI Code of Ethics.
These documents provide minimum guidelines for conducting a home inspection
and outline the various components and procedures of a professional home
inspection Every NAHI applicant’s credentials are reviewed to ascertain that they have
the training and experience necessary to conduct a professional home inspection
before being accepted as a member.
Membership levels are assigned after reviewing an applicant’s
credentials against
specific criteria.
Most individuals will initially join our association as an Associate member
and work to achieve their Regular or CRI level membership. You can find a NAHIPA Member Inspector by using the Find An Inspector tool
above the navigation menu.
Currently we have chapters serving the
Northeast,
Southeast, and
Western
portions of Pennsylvania.
However, there are some NAHI certified inspectors throughout the state.
If your county is not covered by one of our chapters, you can find a local
