NAHI Membership Levels

There are three different levels of NAHI membership.  A member’s level is based on their training, education, and experience as evaluated against The Logo of the National Association of Home InspectorsNAHI’s national standards. 

Certified Real Estate Inspector (NAHI CRI) -

NAHI CRI members must complete a minimum of 250 full fee-paid home inspections and pass the NAHI CRI Exam. NAHI CRI members must submit copies of three (3) completed home inspection reports for review each year and complete a minimum of sixteen (16) Continuing Education Units (CEU's) each calendar year.

Regular Membership -

Regular Members must complete a minimum of 100 full fee-paid home inspections and pass the NAHI Certified Real Estate Inspector (NAHI CRI) Exam, National Home Inspector Exam (NHIE) or California Real Estate Inspection Association (CREIA) Exam.  In addition, Regular Members must complete a minimum of eight (8) Continuing Education Units (CEU's) each calendar year. 

Associate Membership -

Associate Members must successfully complete a 40-hour comprehensive home inspection training program or complete of a minimum of twenty (20) full fee-paid home inspections.  In addition, Associate Members must complete a minimum of eight (8) Continuing Education Units (CEU's) each calendar year.  Home inspectors can maintain their Associate Member status for up to two (2) years prior to upgrading to the Regular Member status.
